Azumi

“From The Ravages of War Raises An Assassin.”

Japan is still at war, and the Tokugawa Shogun wants peace badly enough to order the assassination of the hostile warlords. Azumi (Aya Ueto) has been raised since birth with nine other orphans for exactly that work, trained alongside Hyuga (Kenji Kohashi) and Ukiha (Hiroki Narimiya). Ryuhei Kitamura sends her out with a sword, and a country's chance at peace rests on whether a girl brought up to kill can do it.
