Babes in Toyland

(1961)Directed by Austen Jewell, Jack Donohue106 min · GComedy, Fantasy, Family, Music
“The happiest, most delightful musical comedy of your lifetime!”

Tom Piper (Tommy Sands) is days from marrying Mary Contrary (Annette Funicello) in Toyland when the villain Barnaby (Ray Bolger), who wants Mary for himself, has him kidnapped. What follows in Jack Donohue's Disney musical is a run of chases and searches, with the Toymaker (Ed Wynn) and his wooden soldiers in the middle of it. Under the songs and slapstick, it is a plain story about a couple holding on to their wedding.
