Baby the Rain Must Fall

(1965)Directed by Robert Mulligan100 minDrama, Romance
“The more he gets into trouble, the more he gets under her skin!”

Henry Thomas (Steve McQueen) comes home to start over with his wife Georgette (Lee Remick) and their young daughter, hoping to put a hard childhood and a drinking problem behind him. His abusive stepmother and the bottle are still waiting in the town he left. Robert Mulligan, working from Horton Foote's screenplay, keeps Henry in the frame as he walks back through his own past, carrying the weight of it.
