“That "White Heat" girl turns it on again!..”

Bob Corey (Gordon MacRae) leaves a military hospital and goes straight looking for his army buddy Steve Connolly (Edmond O'Brien), a reformed crook now on the run from a murder charge that was built against him. Army nurse Julie Benson (Virginia Mayo), who has fallen for Corey, goes along as he tries to clear his friend's name. Vincent Sherman sends them through the trail alone, Julie beside Bob, with Steve somewhere ahead and no one willing to say where.
