Bad Company

“They're young, desperate, dangerous—a long way from home, but a short way from Hell.”

Drew Dixon (Barry Brown) is a churchgoing young man whose family sends him west to keep him out of the Civil War, and he ends up traveling with a loose band of teenage vagrants led by Jake Rumsey (Jeff Bridges). Robert Benton follows them across the open country, short on food and horses and long on bad ideas. The war they ran from never reaches them, but neither does anything that looks like a home.
