Bad Lieutenant

“Gambler. Thief. Junkie. Killer. Cop.”

The lieutenant (Harvey Keitel) has no name in this film, only a badge, a drug habit and a gambling debt that grows with every baseball game he bets on. When a young nun is raped inside a New York church, he takes the case and finds himself drawn to the one person in the story who has forgiven her attackers. Abel Ferrara shoots him on the streets and in a parked car at night, the cheap rooms lit by a television or a single lamp.
