“No choice”
Anton Pampushnyy (Andrey Shatalov) is a Russian officer sent into Kosovo in 1999, just after the NATO bombing and the Yugoslav army's pullout. With Serbian civilians left exposed to the Albanian UCK, he and a small band of soldiers, among them Bek (Gosha Kutsenko), must take Slatina airport and hold it until Russian peacekeepers arrive. Andrey Volgin keeps the men short on numbers and time, and Anton carries the order as a weight he cannot put down.
