Ballad of a Small Player

Lord Doyle (Colin Farrell) is playing baccarat in the casinos of Macau, hiding from his past and from the debts that follow him. At the table he notices Dao Ming (Fala Chen), a woman he cannot read, and he keeps coming back to watch her. Edward Berger shoots the gaming floors in sleek, glittering light and lets a gambler's fascination pull the whole film along.
