Balto (Maurice LaMarche) and Jenna (Jodi Benson) live in Nome with their pups, the sequel picking up after the 1995 film. Their daughter Aleu (Lacey Chabert) is the one pup who looks like a wolf, and Phil Weinstein sends her and her father north on a journey that is as much about who she is as where she goes. Balto has to follow her out of the only home they know, and father and daughter find themselves learning about each other on the trail.
