“Some stay for a night. Some stay for a week. Some never leave.”

Tess (Georgina Campbell) needs a place to sleep before a job interview in the morning, and she gets to the rental house late at night to find it already taken. The man inside is Keith (Bill Skarsgård), polite and a little too eager, and with nowhere else to go she stays. Zach Cregger keeps her in the doorway of that house, the wet street behind her, the stranger's lamp on in the hall.
