Barbarians at the Gate

F. Ross Johnson (James Garner), the president and CEO of RJR Nabisco, wants out from under the company's shareholders, and his smokeless cigarette Premier has just failed. So he decides to buy the tobacco and cookie giant himself. Glenn Jordan's film, from a Larry Gelbart script, puts Johnson against Henry Kravis (Jonathan Pryce) and other Wall Street rivals, with a whole company and a great deal of money riding on who wins.
