Barbarosa

“The outlaw...the outcast...and the legend that was bigger than both of them.”

Karl Westover (Gary Busey), a farm boy with little sense, runs south after killing a neighbor by accident, and the dead man's family comes after him. In the Texas brush he meets Barbarosa (Willie Nelson), an outlaw half the country has a story about, who is being hunted himself by his father-in-law, the rancher Don Braulio (Gilbert Roland). Fred Schepisi, an Australian making his first American film, shoots the hard country in flat, bleached light.
