Barefoot in the Park

(1967)Directed by Gene Saks106 minComedy, Romance
“Broadway's barest, rarest, unsquarest love play.”

Six days after the wedding, Corie Bratter (Jane Fonda) and her buttoned-up lawyer husband Paul (Robert Redford) are already at odds, stuck on the sixth floor of a Greenwich Village walk-up. Corie sets about finding a match for her widowed mother, Ethel (Mildred Natwick), and settles on their neighbor Victor Velasco (Charles Boyer). Gene Saks keeps Neil Simon's play inside those cramped rooms, where two people who love each other can't agree on how to live.
