Barfly

“Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead.”

Henry Chinaski (Mickey Rourke) writes poetry and wants nothing more than to be left alone at his stool in a Los Angeles bar. Barbet Schroeder directs from a screenplay by Charles Bukowski, drawn from his own years of heavy drinking. Wanda Wilcox (Faye Dunaway) takes the next stool, and Henry keeps writing and keeps drinking, content to live on the skids on his own terms.
