Barney's Version

“First he got married. Then he got married again. Then he met the love of his life.”

Barney Panofsky (Paul Giamatti) produces soap operas, drinks too much, and says whatever he thinks, which has cost him most of what he has tried to hold onto. Richard J. Lewis follows him through three marriages, a father in Izzy (Dustin Hoffman) who is never far from the next story, and the long-ago disappearance of his friend Boogie (Scott Speedman). Barney is telling his own account because he knows the other versions won't be kind.
