Based on a True Story

Delphine (Emmanuelle Seigner) is standing in a bookshop line, signing copies of the bestselling novel she drew from her own life, and she is worn out by the tour. She cannot imagine writing another word, until she meets Elle (Eva Green), a young woman who seems to understand her better than anyone. Roman Polanski, working from Delphine de Vigan's novel, treats the pull of an intimate friendship as a danger to the person who feels it.
