Bashu, the Little Stranger

A boy climbs into a truck to escape the Iran-Iraq War, and when it stops he is in the north, where the land and the language are both unfamiliar to him. Bashu (Adnan Afravian), orphaned and alone, finds his way to a farm run by Naii (Susan Taslimi), who is raising two young children while her husband is away. Bahram Beyzai lets the two of them share a house without a shared word, and trust comes slowly between them.
