Bastard Out of Carolina

Ruth Anne "Bone" Boatwright (Jena Malone) is a young girl in South Carolina, the eldest daughter of a mother who works hard and has little to show for it. Anjelica Huston follows the family as Anney (Jennifer Jason Leigh) decides that Glen Waddell (Ron Eldard) is her last real chance at a steadier life. Anney and Bone grow closer and drift further apart at once, each trying to hold on to the other.
