“Evil fears the knight.”

Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) is a Gotham billionaire carrying the death of his parents, and he decides the city's corruption is his to fight. The system won't let him do it, so he builds a new self meant to frighten the criminals who run the place, with Alfred (Michael Caine) and Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) nearby. Christopher Nolan stages the origin as a story of method, how a man turns grief into a symbol.
