Batman: Year One

“A merciless crime turns a man into an outlaw.”

Jim Gordon (Bryan Cranston) is a Chicago cop who transfers to Gotham City and finds a police department that takes its envelopes from the mob. Bruce Wayne (Ben McKenzie) comes back to the same city after years away, with no plan yet for what to do about it. Lauren Montgomery and Sam Liu adapt the 1987 comic, and its central idea is simple: one honest man inside the system and one outside it, each alone against a city that has stopped caring.
