Beautiful Thing

“An urban fairytale.”

A long, hot summer on the Thamesmead Estate in Southeast London, and three teenagers are edging toward adulthood. Jamie (Glen Berry) hides from school and from the boys at it, while Ste (Scott Neal) lives with trouble next door, and Leah (Tameka Empson) sings along to her records. Hettie MacDonald and writer Jonathan Harvey, adapting his own play, treat what grows between the boys as ordinary and worth having.
