Belle (Léa Seydoux) wants nothing more than to see her ruined merchant father safe again, so when he is caught taking a rose from the garden of a terrifying creature, she offers to pay his debt herself. Christophe Gans sends her into the enchanted castle of the Beast (Vincent Cassel), a place where nothing is quite explained. Each day she stays, the creature she was afraid of becomes someone she can talk to.
