Becoming Jane

Jane Austen (Anne Hathaway) is a country clergyman's daughter, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Austen (James Cromwell, Julie Walters), have little money and one plan: a marriage to the nephew of the wealthy Lady Gresham (Maggie Smith). Jane wants none of it, and what she does want is a question the household cannot answer. Julian Jarrold follows her to Tom Lefroy (James McAvoy), a penniless apprentice lawyer, and the two begin sparring and then falling in love.
