Bed and Sofa
Kolya (Nikolai Batalov) is a Moscow printer who treats his wife Lyudmila (Lyudmila Semyonova) more like furniture than a partner, and the two live in one cramped room. When he brings home an old friend, Volodya (Vladimir Fogel), and lets him stay, the arrangement shifts in ways none of them planned. Abram Room builds a marriage out of three people and one apartment, and the film argues plainly that the person who keeps house deserves a say in who lives there.
