Beetlejuice

“In this house... if you've seen one ghost... you haven't seen them all.”

Adam (Alec Baldwin) and Barbara (Geena Davis) die in a car accident in New England, then find they cannot leave the house they loved. A rich New York family moves in, led by Charles (Jeffrey Jones) and Delia (Catherine O'Hara), and the ghosts can't scare them off. Tim Burton builds the afterlife out of crooked sets and practical effects, and he lets the joke land in the shape of the room.
