Before and After

“A murder. A suspect. A shadow of a doubt.”

Carolyn Ryan (Meryl Streep), a doctor, wants her family left alone to go on as it always has. Then police come for her son Jacob (Edward Furlong), accused of killing his girlfriend, and her husband Ben (Liam Neeson) is pulled in beside her. Barbet Schroeder keeps the story inside the Ryan household, where Carolyn has to decide how much she is willing to know about her own child.
