Before Midnight

“Everything's better with maturity.”

A summer in Greece is ending, nine years after Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Céline (Julie Delpy) last crossed paths, and they are now parents of twin daughters living in Paris. Jesse has to put his teenage son on a plane back to the States, and on the drive home he starts doubting the choices he has made. Richard Linklater, who wrote the script with his two leads, mostly lets them talk, one conversation after another.
