Before the Devil Knows You're Dead

“No one was supposed to get hurt.”

Andy Hanson (Philip Seymour Hoffman) needs money, and so does his younger brother Hank (Ethan Hawke), who is behind on child support and has nothing to show for it. Andy's answer is a robbery of their own parents' jewelry store, a small quiet place he says no one will get hurt in. Sidney Lumet tells it out of order, replaying scenes from different brothers' eyes, until the family looks less like a family than a debt.
