“This is what love feels like.”

Months after his father's death, Oliver Fields (Ewan McGregor) meets Anna (Mélanie Laurent), a restless, funny woman with father troubles of her own. Falling for her sends him back through the last years of Hal (Christopher Plummer), who came out at 75, after the death of his wife of 44 years. Mike Mills drew on his own father's story, and Oliver sits beside Hal's old dog, sorting through what Hal left.
