Maria Schneider (Anamaria Vartolomei) is a young, struggling actress in 1970s Paris when she lands the part that should make her career. Jessica Palud follows her onto the set of an Italian director's new film, opposite an American superstar, Marlon Brando (Matt Dillon), and what looks like a breakthrough turns into a role she can't walk away from. It is a story about how a young woman's consent gets treated as an obstacle to the work.
