Bel Canto

Roxanne Cross (Julianne Moore) is an American soprano who travels to South America to sing at a birthday party for Katsumi Hosokawa (Ken Watanabe), a Japanese businessman who loves her voice above everything. Guerrillas storm the lavish gathering and hold the guests inside, and Paul Weitz keeps the whole film within that one house. Over the long standoff, Roxanne and Hosokawa, who do not share a language, find the music is all they need to understand each other.
