Beloved

“Be hard be brave”

In 1960s Paris, Madeleine (Ludivine Sagnier) moves from one love affair to the next, taking whatever the moment offers. Forty years on, her daughter Véra (Chiara Mastroianni) does the same, and the story crosses Reims, Prague, Montreal and London, with the characters singing their way through scenes. Christophe Honoré lets the two women, Madeleine (Catherine Deneuve) now older, circle each other across the decades, each one's choices pressing on the other.
