Belphegor, Phantom of the Louvre

(2001)Directed by Jean-Paul Salomé97 minFantasy, Mystery, Horror

Lisa (Sophie Marceau) is a young woman in Paris whose life changes the night a sarcophagus from an Egyptian dig is brought into the Louvre. While experts scan it with a laser, a spirit slips out and into the museum's electrical system, and Lisa becomes the one it takes hold of. Jean-Paul Salomé shot inside the real Louvre, the first feature allowed to, and the galleries sit around Lisa in long, quiet frames.
