Benedetta

“I don't know God's ways, but he works his will through me.”

Benedetta (Virginie Efira) has lived in an Italian convent since she was a child, and now, in the 17th century, she begins to see visions that no one around her can explain. Paul Verhoeven puts her beside Bartolomea (Daphné Patakia), a novice who arrives to take shelter and becomes the center of a forbidden affair. Sister Felicita (Charlotte Rampling) watches both women, and every vision Benedetta claims puts her, and the Church itself, at risk.
