Benediction
“Love is never still.”
Siegfried Sassoon (Jack Lowden) comes home from the First World War a decorated officer and turns on the government that keeps sending men to fight it. Terence Davies follows him into the drawing rooms of London, where aristocrats and stage stars adore him, and into a string of affairs with men, including Ivor Novello (Jeremy Irvine). Sassoon is trying to find a way to live as a man who desires men, in a country that criminalises it.
