“Face your demons.”

Beowulf (Ray Winstone) is a 6th-century Scandinavian warrior who crosses the sea to kill Grendel, the man-like ogre that has been tearing through King Hrothgar's (Anthony Hopkins) hall. Hrothgar's court watches the stranger with suspicion, and the scornful Unferth (John Malkovich) wants to see him fail. Zemeckis, working from a Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary script, builds the old poem's world entirely in motion capture.
