Bergman Island

Chris (Vicky Krieps) wants a script of her own, and she has come to Fårö for the summer to write it, on the island where Ingmar Bergman lived and worked. Her husband Tony (Tim Roth), also a filmmaker, has brought his own screenplay to finish, and the two of them move through Bergman's old haunts like pilgrims. Mia Hansen-Løve films the island in long summer light and lets Chris's story slide, bit by bit, into the one she is writing.
