(2020)Directed by Burhan Qurbani184 minDrama, Crime

Francis (Welket Bungué) is the only survivor of a boat that crossed the Mediterranean illegally, and in Berlin in 2015 he wants to live a decent life. Burhan Qurbani moves Alfred Döblin's 1929 novel to the present day, with an undocumented West African man at its center. Francis has no papers and no safety, and the criminals around Reinhold (Albrecht Schuch) offer him the only work in sight.
