“Till then, then…”

Frank Lehmann (Christian Ulmen) tends bar in Kreuzberg in October 1989, in a corner of West Berlin the Wall has hemmed in for 28 years. He drinks with the regulars, cares nothing for what lies beyond his neighborhood, and drifts through a slow affair with the cook Katrin (Katja Danowski). Leander Haußmann sets him among the crumbling buildings of SO 36, where artists and barflies sit in the bar with the political turmoil still on the far side of the Wall.
