“Trapped on a Train of Terror!”

Somewhere on a U.S. Army train bound for bombed-out Frankfurt, a Nazi assassination plot is moving among the passengers. Robert Lindley (Robert Ryan) and Lucienne Mirbeau (Merle Oberon) share a compartment with a Frenchman, an Englishman and a German doctor, Heinrich Bernhardt (Paul Lukas), none of them quite what they say. Jacques Tourneur keeps the carriage close and the ruined country passing outside the window.
