“Some pets deserve a little more respect than others.”

Hundreds of owners and their dogs are headed to the Mayflower Dog Show, and everyone involved is deadly serious about it. Christopher Guest directs a mockumentary that follows five entrants on the road and into the ring, among them Sherri Ann Cabot (Jennifer Coolidge) and Harlan Pepper (Guest himself). Much of the dialogue was improvised, and it plays as people taking their devotion to an animal far more seriously than the animal does.
