Rumors move through the Back Bay Mainline office that the Boston underground paper is about to be sold to a media giant. Harry (John Heard), Abbie (Lindsay Crouse) and the rest of the staff keep filing stories and sleeping with each other anyway, with Joan Micklin Silver giving each of them room. The paper was built in the 1960s, and these people are finding out what happens to a cause when the decade that made it is over.
