Between Two Worlds

“They lived in the Shadow of Death!”

An ocean liner crosses the Atlantic during the Second World War with a handful of passengers who cannot say how they came aboard or where the ship is headed. Tom Prior (John Garfield) and Henry Bergner (Paul Henreid) share the decks with Reverend Tim Thompson (Sydney Greenstreet), while the steward Scrubby (Edmund Gwenn) answers nothing. Edward A. Blatt's film suggests that strangers on a long voyage will eventually have to account for how they lived.
