Mohit Chadda (Ayushmann Khurrana) and Mayera Sehgal (Sonam Kapoor Ahuja) have never had to think about rent or bills, until the recession starts draining the money they took for granted. Nupur Asthana keeps the story in the cramped, bickering space of their daily life. Mayera's father, V. K. Sehgal (Rishi Kapoor), watches Mohit with open suspicion, and the couple's love has to hold up in front of him.
