Beware, My Lovely

“Trapped by a man beyond control!”

Helen Gordon (Ida Lupino), a widow alone in her house, hires a handyman named Howard Wilton (Robert Ryan) for a few odd jobs, and nothing in his manner explains why the house feels smaller once he is inside it. Harry Horner keeps the two of them behind closed doors, with the hours passing and the rooms to be cleaned. Helen is the one who notices what is off about him, and she has no way to leave.
