Beyond the Hills

Alina (Cristina Flutur) comes back to Romania from Germany for the one person she has ever loved, Voichita (Cosmina Stratan), and finds her living in an Eastern Orthodox convent under a priest (Valeriu Andriuță) and a mother superior (Dana Tapalagă). Cristian Mungiu gives the two women a single plan: Alina means to take Voichita away with her. Voichita has already given herself to God, and Alina will not leave without her.
