Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

The story begins in the Punjab of the 1947 Partition, where a young Milkha Singh loses his family to the massacres of the civil war and ends up homeless. The grown Milkha (Farhan Akhtar) becomes a runner, a long way from the refugee camps, and one of India's best-known athletes. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra tells it in the cadence of a crowd-pleasing sports drama, though the weight of the early years never leaves the frame.
