(1948)Directed by Vittorio De Sica89 minDrama
“The Prize Picture They Want to Censor!”

Antonio (Lamberto Maggiorani) has been out of work for a long time in postwar Rome, so the job pasting posters around the city feels like rescue, and it requires a bicycle. On his first day it is stolen. Vittorio De Sica sends him across the city with his young son Bruno (Enzo Staiola), and if Antonio doesn't find the thief, the job goes and his family has nothing to fall back on.
