Wilma McClatchie (Angie Dickinson) is a widowed mother raising two daughters, Billy Jean (Susan Sennett) and Polly (Robbie Lee), when hard times push the family into bootlegging and then bank robbery. Fred (Tom Skerritt) and William J. Baxter (William Shatner) drift into her orbit as the law follows the family across the country. Steve Carver keeps it loud and quick, a Roger Corman production shot with the rough, grainy look of its day.
