Jason Shepherd (Frankie Muniz) turns in a story at school, and a few days later it is up on a movie screen with someone else's name attached. The thief is Hollywood producer Marty Wolf (Paul Giamatti), and Jason and his best friend Kaylee (Amanda Bynes) head west to make him admit it. Shawn Levy keeps the pranks loud and fast, but the core of it is a kid who gets called a liar so many times that he decides the truth is worth chasing.
